What happens when you mix Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Jack White (White Stripes / Raconteurs) Dean Fertita (QOTSA) and Jack Lawrence (also of The Raconteurs)?
The Dead Weather, that’s what.
There’s always something quite artistic about anything Jack White (and the crew) get involved with – I haven’t heard much of TDW but I love The Kills, I like Ractonteurs and I certainly like the White Stripes so this must be a winner.
Someone tell me when Jack White is gonna colab with Dizzee Rascal… it’s in the air…

It’s a good week! New LCD Soundsystem here by the name of Bye Bye Bayo to be realised November 12th on DFA Records for Record Store Day.
The track is a cover of Suicide member Alan Vega’s song and is seperate to their upcoming album in 2010. Good stuff!

The Strokes’ frontman’s new record 11th Dimension sounds quite dancey almost in comparison to the traditional Stokes sound. It’s also one I can listen to over and over again, just like any Strokes track.
When I first heard this on the radio I thought there was a hint of Supergrass’ “Pumping on Your Stereo”. This is definately a very exciting track though and am really looking forward to hearing his debut solo album Phrazes For The Young on October 20th.

Bloc Party’s Matt Tong as hinted at an uncertain future for the band after they recently announced plans for a lengthy break.
Talking to a BBC local music show he said “Unfortunately that is going to be it for the time being, we definitely need to have a break and gain a bit of perspective on life outside of the band. Hopefully if we do reconvene at some point in the future we’ll be refreshed and have so many ideas to bring to what it is we do.”
The band had to cancel a show tonight after announcing on their website that guitarist Russell Lissack “has to undergo a medical procedure which, whilst not being serious, cannot be delayed until the end of the tour”.
It will be a great shame if this is the last we see of Bloc Party as a band – but I’m sure they will live on in any case.
You can listen to the band’s interview here.
